Important Information
Students returning for the Holiday break should contact their mentor and coordinate a start and end date. Students who are in casual status will remain on casual status during the Holiday break and may work a 40 hour week.

Students returning for Summer '07 should coordinate a return date with their mentor at least 6 weeks prior to returning. Students should ensure that official transcripts are sent by February 17th showing Fall '06 grades and Spring '07 enrollment. Unofficial or web transcripts will not be accepted. Students should ensure their transcripts have been received by the Education Program Office prior to their return by emailing Brenda Montoya.

The transcript review process enables the Education and Postdoc Office to monitor a student’s eligibility and ensure academic progression. The process also determines the appropriate salary and/or salary increase for each student.

More detailed information about this year's process can be found at: http://sa.lanl.gov/pdf/Student%20Transcript%20Info%202007.pdf.
What is the Student Transcript and Salary Review Process?
This process monitors student progress, eligibility, degree completion and salary accountability.

How do I get involved in the Students' Association?
As long as you are employed by LANL in a student position (or here on a "student guest" agreement), you are already a member of the Students' Association.

To become a member of a committee for the Students' Association, browse through the committee list, and contact the chair of the committee for more information. For information on events, meetings or activities, see the student calendar, or even check the life@lanl calendar.
How do I transfer to another division or gain more experience working with a different mentor or group?
You are encouraged to update your resume online, research the LANL web site and find areas of interest to you along with contact information and begin networking. You can also contact the Pre-College, UGS or GRA coordinators at STB for guidance.
I'm having a problem with my work assignment, but don't feel comfortable talking to my mentor. Who should I contact?
You are always encouraged to speak directly with your mentor. You can also speak with the student liaison assigned to your division/group. You can also contact Carole Rutten, LANL Student Mentor/Liasion with STB-EPO.
My question is not answered, who can I contact?
If you want information on Students' Association (social events, getting involved, etc.) contact saexec@lanl.gov. This email goes to the current officers of the Students' Association.

If you have questions regarding your HS Co-op, UGS or GRA hiring status or termination procedures, contact HR at either progsinfo@lanl.gov or call 664-6947. Questions about salary or program eligibility should be sent to Brenda Montoya at bmontoya@lanl.gov.

If you have questions regarding your stay here at LANL (other opportunities at LANL, mentors, problems at work, professional events for students, etc.) please contact Carole Rutten, LANL Student Mentor/Liasion with STB-EPO.
